My area of discipline focuses on popular music practices, assessment in music performance, and improvisation pedagogy in music education. Within these specializations, my goal is to create empirical research that advances the field of music education by creating solutions, developing further questions, and empowering music educators by transforming the idea of what it means to be a music educator in the 21st century.
